How to find us...
The city of Missoula can be approached from any of
the four directions. Travelers from the east or west
will come in on Interstate 90, which skirts the
northern edge of town. There are three exits to the
city plus one to the Missoula Airport. The quickest
way to the Fifth Street Guest House from I-90 is
from the eastern most exit, to Van Buren Street.
Highway 12 from the south- west and Highway 93
south converge at Lolo and enter the city from the
south. Travelers from the north following Highway 93
will get on I-90 a few miles west of Missoula and
follow it to town.
Once you are in town, the Fifth Street Guest House
is easy to find. From the Van Buren Street exit off
I-90, go south the few blocks to Broadway. Turn west
(right) on Broadway to Madison Street (the first stop
light). Be in one of the left turn lanes, turn on
Madison and cross the bridge. As you are crossing the
bridge, get into the right lane, because at the south
end of the bridge you will take a right turn onto South
Fifth Street East and stay in the right hand lane. Go
two blocks, to where Helen Avenue "T"s into 5th
Street on the left, and your home away from home is
on the right side of the street at 500 S. 5th Street
East.

For travelers coming in from the south on Hwy 93/12, the easiest way to reach the Fifth Street Guest
House is on Brooks Street. As you approach the city, at the first major intersection, Hwy 93 turns to the
left and becomes Reserve Street while Hwy 12 continues straight and becomes Brooks Street. Turn right
onto Brooks, follow it north through an extended retail district (including Southgate Mall), then through a
residential area, until it 'Y's into Higgins, across from the Hellgate High School. Follow Higgins north,
across the bridge over the Clarks Fork River, then turn right onto Broadway in the center of the
interesting downtown. Follow Broadway east to Madison Street, turn right on Madison, and follow the
directions given above.
